Public Input Sought on Access to Fair Housing in Springfield

-

WASHINGTON, D.C. – April 8, 2013 – (RealEstateRama) — A confidential survey link is up on the city’s website seeking input from residents who have experienced housing discrimination. The link to the survey is: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/PP5KC63 and residents can access it by going to the city’s website home page. In addition, a series of listening sessions will be taking place in the coming weeks for residents to tell the city about the barriers to fair housing they might have encountered.

The Pioneer Valley Planning Commission has been hired by the city of Springfield to update the city’s Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing (AI), and engaging residents in the development of the AI is a primary concern both for the city and for the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development.

The first listening sessions took place on March 27 at HAP Housing and subsequent listening sessions will be happening throughout the city during the months of April and May 2013.
