Activity Stayed Strong throughout the Summer as Pending Sales Up Again in August

WALTHAM, MA - September 11, 2012 - (RealEstateRama) -- September 11, 2012 – The Massachusetts Association of REALTORS® (MAR) reported today that activity continued to be strong in the summer as the number of single-family homes and condominiums put under agreement were up again in August. This is the 16th straight month that the number of single-family homes and condominiums put under agreement increased from the previous year. Pending figures are a leading indicator of actual housing sales in Massachusetts for the following 2-3 months.

June Massachusetts Home Sales Down as Prices Continued to be More Affordable

WALTHAM, MA - July 28, 2011 - (RealEstateRama) -- The Massachusetts Association of REALTORS® (MAR) reported today that June sales were down from the same time last year, but up from this past May. Median prices for single-family homes were down less than two percent on a year-over-year basis, but continue to go up from the month before. While condominium sales were also down on a year-over-year basis, median prices were up for the third straight month. Condominium month-to-month sales and median prices were both up as well.

April Pending Home Sales in Massachusetts Up From March for Third Straight Month-to-Month Gain

September REALTOR® Market Index Down For Fourth Straight Month

WALTHAM, MA - October 12, 2010 - (RealEstateRama) -- The Massachusetts Association of REALTORS® (MAR) today announced that the September REALTOR® Market Index (RMI) was down for the fourth straight month compared to the same time last year. While the September REALTOR® Price Index was also down again for the third straight month, it was up compared to this past August.“Uncertainty continues to be the theme echoed by REALTOR® members who responded to the September housing survey,” said 2010 MAR President Kevin Sears, broker/co-owner of Sears Real Estate in Springfield. “While their expectations on prices are down from last year, when activity amidst the first-time homebuyer tax credit was gaining critical mass, the RPI is up from August, most likely due to dropping interest rates.”

Pending Homes Sales Down in May after Tax Credit Deadline Passes

WALTHAM, MA - June 2, 2010 - (RealEstateRama) -- The Massachusetts Association of REALTORS® (MAR) reported today that the number of single-family homes put under agreement in May were down 3.0 percent over the same time last year, while condominiums were down 6.0 percent. May is the first month since July 2009 that the number of both single-family homes and condominiums put under agreement has decreased compared to the year before.

April 2010 REALTOR Market Index On Positive Side of Scale for First Time
