Real Estate Investing Within Self-Directed IRAs: 2008 Seminar Series Announced

-

OAK BROOK, Ill., Jan. 23 /PRNewswire/ — Millennium Trust Company announces that its 2008 educational seminar series will take place on the ‘Third Thursday’ of every month beginning in February. These free seminars will introduce investors and professionals to the concept of using IRAs and other available retirement funds for self-directed investments in alternative assets such as real estate, hedge funds, futures, foreign currency and private equity. Included in the presentations will be a review of the various types of retirement accounts that can be self-directed including Traditional and Roth Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs); SEP IRAs and Individual 401(k) plans for the self-employed or small business owner; and Health Savings Accounts (HSAs).

Self-directing retirement investments may be a viable option for the knowledgeable investor, however, there are rules and regulations that must be understood in order to avoid creating a prohibited transaction that can result in a full distribution of the retirement account and payment of taxes and penalties. Attending Millennium Trust's seminars will help investors determine if self-directing is a viable investment option. In addition, professionals — attorneys, accountants, financial advisors and realtors who attend these seminars will learn how important their role is in providing professional guidance to those individuals wishing to self-direct.

Investors and professionals can choose to attend a ‘lunch and learn’ seminar beginning at 12:30 p.m. or register for a ‘business after hours’ session beginning at 6:00 p.m. All events will be held at Millennium Trust’s corporate headquarters at 820 Jorie Boulevard in Oak Brook. Presentations will be approximately 90 minutes in length followed by a 30 minute networking session.

“I found Millennium Trust’s Real Estate Investing seminar very informative and a great venue for networking with other professionals. I recommend it for anyone interested in learning more about how to grow their business through alternative asset investing,” Patricia Ellis, Managing Broker RE/MAX Enterprises, Downers Grove, Ill.
