Brewster’s Annie Blatz Installed as 2016 President of the Massachusetts Association of REALTORS®

Waltham, Mass. – December 09, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — Annie Blatz, broker-manager at Kinlin Grover Real Estate in Brewster, was installed on December 7, 2015, as president of the 21,000-plus-member Massachusetts Association of REALTORS® (MAR) for 2016. The event took place at the Ocean Edge Resort and Golf Club in Brewster, Mass. and included the installation of the MAR Board of Directors and Executive Committee. Blatz’s term officially begins on January 1, 2016.

As president, Blatz will direct the internal and external activities of the Association; preside at all meetings of the MAR Board of Directors and Executive Committee; represent the Association at important meetings and business functions; and act as the official spokesperson for the Association on issues related to the real estate industry and local housing market. In addition, she will represent MAR and its members on the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) Board of Directors and the New England REALTORS® Committee this year, and also will serve as an ex-officio member of all state association committees and work groups.

Prior to starting her term as president, Annie served as MAR’s 2015 President-Elect. Before that, she served two terms on the Leadership Team as Secretary/Treasurer. Annie has also served MAR as Chair of the Professional Standards Committee and as a member of the Finance, Communications, and Strategic Planning Committees. Annie has served on the MAR Board of Directors since 2004. She has also served as the Communications and Technology Focus Area Vice President in 2011, Legal Affairs/Business Development Vice President in 2010, and the Cape Cod & Islands Region Vice President in 2008 & 2009.

On the local level, Annie served as the Cape Cod & Islands Association of REALTORS® President in 2007, and was the recipient of its REALTOR® of the Year Award in 2006.
At the national level, Blatz is a 2015 member of the NAR Board of Directors, Public Policy Coordinating Committee and the Resort and Second Home Real Estate Committee.
In 2016, she will serve as a member of the State and Local Issues Mobilization Support Committee. She has been a member of the Global, Communications, and Public Policy Coordinating committees. Annie has also been a member of the Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS) Advisory Group, and a member of the 2010 NAR Leadership Academy. In 2011, Blatz served as the chair of the Resort and Second Home Real Estate Committee. In 2007, she was chair of NAR’s Large Board Sub Forum and the vice chair in 2006.

A REALTOR® since 1985, Annie has earned her Accredited Buyer Representative Manager (ABRM), Home With Diversity (AHWD), Certified Buyer Representative (CBR), Certified Residential Specialist (CRS), Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS), Resort & Second Home Property Specialist (RSPS), Transnational Referral Certification (TRC), and Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager (CRB), and GREEN professional real estate designations. She also holds her Loss Mitigation Certification (LMC).
