WASHINGTON, D.C. — (RealEstateRama) — The Public Building Commission of the Town of Scituate, Massachusetts will issue periodic public updates about the construction progress for the Town Library project. Groundbreaking occurred on September 1, 2015. The project remains on budget. Completion is anticipated for early 2017.

Construction has been moving along at a steady pace and is 55% complete. The topping slab has been poured throughout the building allowing interior framing to begin. The central staircase has been constructed. Windows have been installed in all framed locations. Final plans for the parking lot design were presented to the Town of Scituate Planning Board on August 11th. The Interior Design Committee is in the final stages of procuring furniture and selecting other design elements.

The town-wide photography contest concluded on August 15th. The judges, Elizabeth Holtzhaus, Kjeld Mahoney, Len Rubenstein and Patricia Vinchesi, will be reviewing more than 300 entries. Approximately 50 images will be selected by October and incorporated in building signage.

The Board of Trustees and the Director are progressing with their review of Library policies to ensure the safe and appropriate use of the new public spaces.
