Recipients nominated for grants by local Realtor® Associations
WALTHAM, Mass. – November 18, 2016 – (RealEstateRama) — The Massachusetts Association of Realtors® Charitable Foundation recently announced the 2016 recipients of its spring Housing and Homeless Assistance Grants. The following four charities were nominated by local Realtor® Associations and selected to receive a share of $5,500 in grants based on their initiatives to provide affordable housing, shelter and other emergency care services within Massachusetts:
- Habitat for Humanity North Shore
- L.U.K. Crisis Center, Inc.
- Steppingstone, Inc.
- Wellspring House, Inc.
The Foundation has also disbursed two Disaster Relief Grants to help the residents affected by flooding in Louisiana and West Virginia. One grant of $5,000 was awarded for each state, resulting in a total disbursement of $10,000 for disaster relief.
“The tragic flooding disaster in the South really stuck a chord with Realtors® in Massachusetts this year,” said MAR Charitable Foundation Chairman Frank Bertolino, broker/owner of The North Shore Realty Group. “That’s why we provided grants to West Virginia and Louisiana to aid in disaster relief, along with our usual local charities. The MAR Charitable Foundation is committed to keeping a roof over peoples’ heads nationwide.”
Housing and Homeless Assistance Grant Program Overview:
