YOU DON’T KNOW FAIR HOUSING
March 12, 2009 – (RealEstateRama) — If you have not taken a Massachusetts specific Fair Housing course then you do not understand how fair housing laws apply in the Commonwealth. While federal fair housing laws establish minimum standards, states are empowered to expand upon those standards. For instance, Massachusetts provides for more protected classes and fewer exceptions than the federal law. National courses such as NALP and CAM, as well as generic on-line fair housing courses, teach only to the federal law, not to the requirements of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
