Framingham Public Works’ James Barsanti Appointed President of New England Water Environment Association
Framingham, MA – (RealEstateRama) — New England Water Environment Association (NEWEA) appointed Town of Framingham Public Works Assistant Director-Engineering Water and Wastewater, James Barsanti as President during their Annual Conference and Exhibit at the Boston Marriott Copley Place Hotel on January 25, 2017. Barsanti has 31 years of experience in the water and wastewater field and recently served as president-elect of NEWEA. NEWEA’s mission is to promote education and collaboration and offers members a wide range of resources including education, training, leadership skills and technical journals for wastewater professionals.
“The theme of my presidency is the growth and development of students and young NEWEA professionals,” said Barsanti. “What better message to bring than to challenge and inspire the next generation of advocates, stewards, and protectors of the water environment-our earth’s most precious resource.” Barsanti continued.
Barsanti received both his bachelor and master’s degrees from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and is a registered professional engineer in Massachusetts and Vermont. Barsanti is a NEWEA Grade IV Collection Systems Operator and a Massachusetts Grade IV Water Distribution System Operator-In-Training. He has been a member of NEWEA and the Water Environment Federation (WEF) since 1992. Barsanti was the 2014 Massachusetts recipient of the NEWEA Alfred E. Peloquin Award.
