Massachusetts Association of Realtors® Recognizes Realtors® Elizabeth Morawiak-Paczuska and Richard Waystack for their Community Service Efforts
WALTHAM, Mass. – September 21, 2017 – (RealEstateRama) — The Massachusetts Association of Realtors® (MAR) announced today that Elizabeth “Ella” Morawiak-Paczuska of Preferred Properties Realty in Norwell and Richard Waystack of Jack Conway & Company, Inc. in Harwich Port were named MAR’s 2017 Good Neighbor Award winners for their work on behalf of Project Health CV Inc. and the Bob Murray Housing with Love Walk respectively. The Good Neighbor Award recognizes Realtors® for their community activism. The award was presented at MAR’s Professional Awards Reception, which was held September 14 at the DoubleTree Hilton in Milford.
For the past few years Morawiak-Paczuska has made yearly trips to the islands of Cape Verde on medical missions with Project Health CV Inc., a non-profit organization founded in 2009 by medical staff from Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. The mission’s purpose is to provide medical as well as specialized surgical services in Cape Verde. Morawiak-Paczuska helps provide support to the resource-strapped health facilities there, both in-person and financially. She has helped raise over $50,000 for the project and used her personal connections to obtain wheelchairs and critical medical supplies for the people of Cape Verde.
Waystack has participated in the annual Bob Murray Housing with Love Walk every year for the past four years, walking from the tip of Cape Cod in Provincetown to Falmouth. The seven-day walk aims to raise money and awareness for local housing agencies like the Housing Assistance Corporation (HAC) on Cape Cod. Waystack is one of HAC’s biggest advocates and promotes their program in addition to what other organizations on the Cape do to make a difference in the housing issues in our community. The walk is also personal for Waystack, as Bob Murray was a friend and mentor. The Bob Murray Housing with Love Walk has raised $5 million for housing issues on Cape Cod in the past 25 years.
“This year’s Good Neighbors exemplify what it means to be an advocate for those less fortunate,” said 2017 MAR President Paul Yorkis, president of Patriot Real Estate in Medway. “We are proud of Ella and Richard for dedicating themselves to charities that make a difference both here and across the world.”
