Pittsfield Realtor® Named 2017 Massachusetts Realtor® of the Year
WALTHAM, Mass. – September 21, 2017 – (RealEstateRama) — The Massachusetts Association of Realtors® (MAR) announced today that Barb Davis-Hassan, president of Barb Hassan Realty, Inc. in Pittsfield is the Massachusetts Realtor® of the Year for 2017. Davis-Hassan was presented the award at MAR’s Professional Awards Reception, which was held September 14 at the DoubleTree Hilton in Milford.
The state’s Realtor® of the Year is selected annually from among the nominees of the 13 local associations of Realtors® and more than 24,000 Realtors® in Massachusetts. Judging for the award is based on service to the local community, business accomplishments, and service to the Realtors® organization on the local, state and national levels.
“Barb Davis-Hassan has been a vocal advocate for the commercial real estate industry, as well as Realtors® and the communities they serve across the state,” said Massachusetts Association of Realtors® 2017 President Paul Yorkis, president of Patriot Real Estate in Medway. “She is well known in her area and among her fellow Realtors® for her dedication to the organization and giving spirit.”
Davis-Hassan is the immediate past president of the Realtors® Commercial Alliance of Massachusetts. She has been a member of the local association’s Professional Standards Committee and served on its Diversity Task Force, Private Property Protection Fund Subcommittee and Core Standards Team.
On the state level, Davis-Hassan is a member of the Member Benefits Committee. In the past, she has served on the Government Affairs and Forms Content Advisory Committees. Davis-Hassan has also served on the MAR Board of Directors for several years.
On the national level, Davis-Hassan serves on the Federal Financing and Housing Policy Committees.
A Realtor® since 1989, this is the second straight year Davis-Hassan has been nominated as a Realtor® of the Year by the Realtors® Commercial Alliance of Massachusetts. In 2008, she was named the Berkshire REALTORS® Realtor® of the Year.
