MD 14306 – SBA Consolidates Disaster Loan Outreach Centers in Baltimore

ATLANTA – June 12, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — The U.S. Small Business Administration announced the consolidation of the Disaster Loan Outreach Centers in Baltimore City into a single location at the Coppin State University beginning Monday, June 15 to assist businesses and residents in applying for low interest disaster loans. These loans are made available due to the SBA disaster declaration as a result of the Civil Disorder between April 25 and May 3, 2015 in Baltimore.

The consolidated location address and operating hours are as follows:

Opens: Monday, June 15 at 9 a.m.
Hours: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., weekdays; 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday (closed Sundays)

Coppin State University, is a comprehensive, historically Black institution located in West Baltimore, Maryland, and offers undergraduate and graduate programs in teacher education, the liberal arts, mathematics, health care, sciences, technology and professional disciplines. Coppin State University builds on a rich, 115-year legacy of empowering students, promoting community revitalization and strengthening relationships with local, national and global partners. “As an urban university located in the center of the recent unrest in West Baltimore, we are pleased to support the U.S Small Business Administration’s Office of Disaster Assistance in providing assistance to area businesses affected by recent events,” said Coppin State University President Mortimer Neufville.

The following Disaster Loan Outreach Centers will consolidate their operations into the Coppin State University location beginning Monday, June 15 as indicated above.

Hours: 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., Friday, June 12; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, June 13

This disaster declaration as a result of the Civil Disorders covers Baltimore City and the adjacent counties of Anne Arundel and Baltimore in the state of Maryland which are eligible for both physical and economic injury disaster loans from the SBA.

Applicants may apply online using the Electronic Loan Application (ELA) via SBA’s secure website at https://disasterloan.sba.gov/ela.

Businesses and individuals may also obtain information and loan applications by calling the SBA’s Customer Service Center at 1-800-659-2955 (1-800-877-8339 for the deaf and hard-of-hearing), or by emailing disastercustomerservice (at) sba (dot) gov (link sends e-mail). Loan applications can also be downloaded at www.sba.gov/disaster. Completed applications should be returned to the center or mailed to: U.S. Small Business Administration, Processing and Disbursement Center, 14925 Kingsport Road, Fort Worth, TX 76155.

The filing deadline to return applications for physical property damage is July 10, 2015. The deadline to return economic injury applications is February 11, 2016.
