Thirteen Communities Awarded Grants Through the Massachusetts Downtown Initiative
Governor Charlie Baker and Lieutenant Governor Karyn Polito announced thirteen awards from the Massachusetts Downtown Initiative to communities across the Commonwealth. Through the MDI Technical Assistance Program, these grants support local downtown revitalization efforts by connecting municipalities with high-impact consultant services. This year’s awards, totaling $130,000, are set aside from the Community Development Block Grant program every year, and are administered by the Department of Housing and Community Development.
TOWN OF SCITUATE LIBRARY BUILDING PROJECT
The Public Building Commission of the Town of Scituate, Massachusetts will issue periodic public updates about the construction progress for the Town Library project. Groundbreaking occurred on September 1, 2015. The project remains on budget. Completion is anticipated for late 2016/early 2017.
